Michael Brokamp

Mike Brokamp’s musical aspirations began in the 2nd grade, and he hasn’t stopped since.  Beginning with piano, Brokamp has also picked up percussion, guitar and voice over the years to become the well-rounded musician he is today.  During his elementary and high school education at Loveland, Brokamp played in the Loveland High School Stage, Lab and Jazz Orchestra on percussion, guitar and piano, and sang in numerous choirs across the Cincinnati community.  Receiving his undergraduate degree in Music and Media Arts & Studies from Ohio University in March of 2012, Brokamp is continually striving to become a better musician through the most important aspect of communication: listening.  It is in this way that Brokamp hopes to make himself useful to his students.

Using a prescription of music that will not only make his student’s technical and versatile musicians, Brokamp hopes to help his students become trained in whatever genre they most desire to be trained in.  As every genre carries different weight in regards to tone, technique and sound, Brokamp will build a course load catered to every student’s needs.

In his free time, Brokamp enjoys the outdoors, basketball, and cheering for his favorite Cincinnati and Ohio University sport's teams.  He also gigs, and tours with his own funk/rock fusion group, Elemental Groove Theory, across Ohio and the midwest.
