Gayle Castle

Gayle L. Castle has taught studio string lessons and classes for over thirty years, specializing in violin and viola. She has trained with prominent Suzuki teacher trainers from across the country in both instruments. Her students have been members of Cincinnati Junior Strings, Cincinnati Youth Symphony Orchestras, Northern Kentucky Prep Orchestras, Northern Cincinnati Youth Orchestras, Wyoming Fine Arts Center Orchestras, OMEA All-State Orchestra, South West Regional Orchestra, OMEA District 14 Honors Orchestra, and the Vision Ambassadore Orchestras, as well as Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, Miami University Orchestra, Bowling Green State University Philharmonia, Cleveland Institute of Music, the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.


Ms. Castle is music director for the Sycamore Community Schools orchestral program and the Vision for the Arts Academy LLC. She received her BM in Music Education from Bowling Green State University under the baton of Robert Spano. Ms. Castle has studied conducting with David Barg, Brian Cole, and Aik Khai Pung. She has conducted the previous Middletown Symphony Orchestra and the Harry Alexander Music Festival as well as the Ohio Music Education Association District Two Junior High Honors Orchestra and the VAA Youth Orchestras.


Ms. Castle is currently on leave of absence from Sycamore and is pursuing her MM in Music Education degree with a focus in orchestral conducting at the College Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati under the direction of Dr. Aik Khai Pung. She assists with the University of Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and the Cincinnati New Horizons Orchestra.


Ms. Castle is a member of the American String Teachers’ Association, the Suzuki Association of the Americas, and the National Association for Music Education. She is a violist and board member for the Seven Hills Sinfonietta.
