Sean Dobbins

Growing up in a musician’s household, Sean was no stranger when it came to music. Taking after his Father who is a drummer, Sean starting learning how to play drums at age 10. During middle and high school in Mason, he played in the jazz band, plays, choirs, and eventually the Marching Band Drumline and Winter Percussion Ensemble. After high school Sean moved to the west coast and studied Percussion and Music Education at Portland State University, and then California State University Northridge.

While traveling the country Sean has played drums and piano in many different bands ranging in various different genres. Rock, progressive rock, metal, jazz, funk, fusion, samba, world music, country, hip hop, pop, and also avant-garde.

Sean’s biggest influences range from many different drummers, pianists and bands, with his ultimate favorite band being Dream Theater.

Sean is a very deep and passionate musician who absolutely loves teaching and sharing his passion with others. He is a kindhearted and committed person who enjoys teaching his students about themselves and helping them push through boundaries and limits of musicianship they didn’t know they had.
