Congratulations to Haley Wisby for being our student of the month. In addition to performing on Chain of Fools and Magic Dance, Haley learned how to use Reaper audio software and helped to organize all the audio from the Nashville trip. Currently Haley is working on Jar of Hearts and The Swan. She’ll be performing these pieces at our formal recital on October 2nd. And in a few months her videos from Nashville will be released.
First Video From The Nashville Trip Now Online
On Saturday, May 7th 48 students traveled to Nashville, TN to record 8 songs at Starstruck Studios, a world class recording studio owned by Reba McEntire. This was our longest recording session to date…running from 8:00 am to 3:30 am. Because we had so much material to record the students on Bad Horsie were only given one hour to record the song. So at 7:30 am the first group of students arrived at the studio, loaded in their equipment and then recorded Bad Horsie from 8:00 am to 9:00 am. The students were extremely professional and did a fantastic job with this challenging piece.
This is the first of 8 videos:

Noah Stubenrauch Competes In Mason Idol
Noah first had a 30-60 second a cappella audition to qualify. He sang “Always on the Run”. The next week he completed against children based on age. His group was made up of 13 kids ages 11-12 ( 9 girls and 4 boys). They were judged on : vocals (pitch, range consistency), presentation (interpretation of the music/lyrics), personality (presentation of self), stage presence (natural ability and comfort on stage). Round one was a Broadway song. Noah sang “Any Dream Will Do” and made the cut to the semi-finals. His group then had 8 kids( 4 girls and 4 boys). The competition was tough. This semi-final round was a pop or country song. Noah sang “Keep Your Head Up”. From here they picked the top 3 to go onto the finals. Although Noah didn’t make it into the top 3, he said he had fun would definitely like to try again next year.
