Jake Townsend’s career in percussion stemmed from the very first concert he ever attended when he was 13 years old. He dug out an old set of drums from his garage and never looked back, aspiring to achieve the best results in the shortest amount of time. Jake started teaching and gigging when he was 16 years old and never turned back. Learning all of the different styles in drumming
Jake spent a few years touring across the country with some of the biggest names in rock drumming. He spent time learning from both them and their technicians to learn everything it takes to have a great looking, sounding, easy to play kit while building the talent to match it.
Jake makes drumming for his students fun and exciting, but most importantly he focuses on the key elements that get used anywhere in life and tries to instill good habits through drumming into his students. Jake’s ultimate goal for his students is to one day look back at drum lessons and use one of his many practice routines to better themselves in whatever they are doing.
Jake in his spare time likes to record music, go fishing, play disc golf and study top athletes/CEO’s.
